If you remember my post about how Jordan broke her leg and dislocated it somehow… Well, when they took the cast off it ended up ripping up her scabs. So now she has to wear a cone to keep her from licking at the wounds and so we can treat it. She is not happy about it one bit but she is happy about not being at the vets anymore. She doesn’t like those people. She is the sweetest cat to us, purring, cuddling and so on so forth but when you put her in the presence of a vet she turns into demon kitty. I have never heard her make those noises before it was down right scary. The poor thing was in so much pain, it broke my heart.

This is how her leg looks.

It’s not as deformed as I was expecting, it’s just a little cricked. However, it is all shriveled at the top and swollen at the bottom right now. I think, once the wounds heal and the fur grows back it will look relatively normal again but she won’t be able to move that leg the same. Which is fine with me because I don’t want her hurting herself again.

I promise, I won’t kill you with the cake. xD

Gakuen Mokushiroku: High School of the Dead

The first show I watched for the summer season. This one had me with mixed feelings. I have never really been much of a zombie fan but this series might change that. At the same time I really don’t like most of the characters but I’m hoping they grow. The biggest problem with it, as I’m sure most girls will say, is all the fan service with the huge boobs and panty shots. I’m actually not as bothered by this as some people though. It got a little better in the third episode anyway. So far the zombie thing in the series is what has me hooked though. I’m really curious to find out how they get out of this. I’m not going to be surprised if we don’t get a good ending because it is based on a manga series that has been on hiatus for a long time. Still, I will probably be finishing this show.

Sekirei ~Pure Engagement~

Well, I watched the first season and posted about it on my older anime blog that is no longer around. So of course when the second one came out I have to watch it to see how it ends. The first season kind of just ended with a lot of cliff hangers.   I don’t have high expectations for this show though. I’m not sure what makes me like it to begin with. This show might be why High School of the Dead’s fan service doesn’t bother me though. haha. I don’t know, perhaps it is because i don’t hate the male lead in it. That is always a plus.

Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin

I have seen the first two episodes of this one so far. It’s definitely different, not at all what I was expecting. I’m curious but not hooked. The lead female seems a little boring so far and the male lead doesn’t have many points either. The occult and ghost idea of the show is what has me even watching this. It may be way to soon to start judging it just yet though.

Nurarihyon no Mago

I don’t know, I thought I would try it just because I was bored. It’s another one of those long shounen titles. If this one goes on too long like Bleach and Naruto I won’t be watching it. I hate fillers too much to put up with that. Still, the first episode was interesting enough to it might last for a little while.

Shiki

I think out of all the supernatural series this one is on the top of my list next to High School of the Dead. I didn’t really think I would enjoy this one all that much but I’m really curious and the art is nice. I liked how they pulled you into liking this one character and then having her die right off. It was surprising to say the least that they would start it that way instead of getting us use to the main character. I am curious as to what direction this anime will go.

Amagami SS

A cute series so far, was kind of surprised by the speed of it though. I’m not exactly sure what this anime’s purpose is though. If it is just suppose to go into a bunch of short stories about romance. If that is so I might not stick with it even though the first one wasn’t so bad it was still a little to rushed and silly for me. Then again it might be perfect for those days you need a time killer but don’t want to think.

Asobi ni Iku yo!

Another series that I’m not to sure about. I think a lot of the title this season are feeling this way. Anyway, the first two episodes were interesting but if it gets too silly I won’t be sticking with it. So far it is cute even though I’m not into the whole cute alien kitty cat thing. X_x I’m watching it more for the cool girl they showed a the beginning.  What was it, bad luck Izumi? I can’t really remember. haha

Black Rock Shooter OVA

Completely boring but I somehow managed to watch it all. I love the art to BRS, so don’t get me wrong but… wth? Why did it get so popular just because of the Music Video? I really never understand some addictions. Shrugs. To each their own I suppose. Still, the idea of this could have been really neat but the way they did it was so boring. There was hardly any talking and of course there was no plot. It just threw you into the action and you had no idea what was going on until the end.

I really don’t have a lot to say about these titles just yet. I tried to wait long enough but for some reason even when I saw up to four episodes of the series I still couldn’t decide if I like it or not. That is really strange. I’m hoping we get better seasons than this in the future, like perhaps more Durarara? hehe

The new theme goes with our new cosplay team name: Kills With Cake.

Yeah, it might seem like a weird team name but it really does work for us because we are a little bit nuts and we cosplayed as three of the witches from Umineko, one of them actually killing people with cake. That is where the idea came from anyway. xD

Anyway, I hope this new layout works out. My last one was taking a long time to load. I wasn’t happy with that.

We have finished the skirts and what I mean by we, I mean my mother and I and then mostly my mother. What? she took over while I was asleep! lol Still, I did a lot of the work on them and I’m attached to the first one since I did some sewing on it. xD Let me tell you something, cutting out patterns is a bitch and makes your back hurts like hell. Oh well! I think the skirts turned out rather nicely for our first time sewing in years.

Now all we have to do is alter the shirts and make the ties. Yay! Then I need to buy the gloves and stockings… and be on the look out for cute boots. Woot! I want to be able to finish this before cold weather comes.

So, I bought this super adorable clock at San Japan and it had a picture on it that made me want to cosplay as. I knew no one else would have it because it’s not the main character outfits but having them and wearing them would be lots of fun and look really cute. It is three characters from Toradora, Taiga, Minorin, and Ami. I will be making three skirts. As for the shirts, I might buy something and alter it. We shall see how that goes first.

I’m really looking forward to this even though I know it will be hard. Doing pleated skirts is a bitch. 0_0 Still, I found the perfect material and got lots of compliments on my choice by the people who ran the store. The fabric wasn’t cheap though so I’m hoping this is all worth it. All together it cost me about 100 dollars to get all the fabric, scissors, thread, zippers and other odds and end to help me with the sewing project. Wish me luck!

The hotel they had it in this time was really good! I hope they continue to do it at this hotel because the staff that worked there were good and friendly and the hotel itself was really nice. they didn’t have their TV all locked up so that we couldn’t plug in our games and DVDs (stupid, cheap Holiday Inn you guys suck!).

Since I kept myself so busy at this con I didn’t get nearly as many pictures as I got last time. However, we did do our own little private photo shoot in the Umineko dresses and I did get a few good pictures of the Masquerade which turned out to be a lot of fun.

I got to meat one of my favorite voice over actors for the dubs. Greg Ayers, him and his brother were both awesome so I made sure to get their autographs. I was just sad that I felt to sick on the night that Greg was going to DJ the rave. At least I got to see two of his panels.

Also, another girl took a few pictures of us so I can wait to see how those look once she sends me an email.

I also bought a bunch of stuff at this con but I will save that for another post. xD

Dre develops a crush on a young violinist, Mei Ying, who reciprocates his attention, but Cheng, a kung fu prodigy whose family is close to Mei Ying’s, attempts to keep them apart by beating Dre, and later harassing and humiliating him in and around school. During a particularly brutal beating by Cheng and his friends, the kindly maintenance man of Dre’s building, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), comes to Dre’s aid, revealing himself as a kung fu master who adeptly dispatches Dre’s tormentors. – Wikipedia

To be blunt, I’m not sure why they called this Karate Kid and fooled people into thinking it would be some kind of remake. It should have been a movie title all on it’s own and it should have been named Kung Fu Kid, not Karate Kid. Now, despite that obvious point I rather enjoyed the movie. It was one of those ‘feel good‘ movies that made you want to cry and jump for joy. I didn’t get antsy in my seat at the theater watching this one either, which is a huge plus for me because lately all the movies I have been going to have been making me want them to be over faster.

The story line was simple but enjoyable. It’s a, when life gets tough try again, story line. The acting was pretty good but I was amazed by Jackie Chan’s acting the most. I always loved him in movies, he could make you laugh and be serious but in this movie he surprised me. He actually brought me to tears with his crying scene about his lost wife and son. He did a great job of making me belief that was a real story and that he was truly hurting.

The relationship between Dre and Mr.Han was adorable as well. It was almost like Mr.Han got to help a young boy who could have been his son and Dre got a father figure to help him with the bullying in the best way possible. Of course, I’m sure that is what they were going for but I’m kind of glad they didn’t outright say it and make is corny. They were more like friends.

The relationship with the young boy and girl was sweet too and not to over the top corny with them being only 12 years old! I liked the way they resolved the problem with the parents, not making the parents seem like completely evil people. It was understandable if they didn’t want her to hang out with him anymore if he was the one that got her to skip school. However, when he came to apologize to his face I was glad he didn’t just turn him away and let the girl keep her promise to come to his game.

Like I said at the beginning this was a feel good movie and you should go to see it for just that reason. Of course, the Kung Fu was fun to watch as well.

I’m actually a failure in not seeing the original Karate Kid yet. I kept trying to but it was either never in a rental store or it was taken out. Once I do get the chance to watch it I hope to make some more comparisons but I don’t expect anything to be the same.

Got to talking to John and found out we couldn’t even get on cpanel with the thing so he went ahead and just turned it off. We can now log in just fine but he will probably be doing some testing later on tonight so it might be off and on. He really isn’t sure what is causing it but I’m pretty sure he will figure it out, he is good at that. Anyway, sorry about all of this. Keep checking back here for any more news on the server.
