Summer Season 2010

I put this off for a while because it took some time to be able to watch the ones I wanted to try. Sadly, this season is not very exciting to me. None of the titles are making me antsy in my chair waiting for the next release. I have found a few to watch that I can enjoy though. I hope a few of them can keep me interested. Still, this is very short, including my opinions on them so far.

Gakuen Mokushiroku: High School of the Dead

The first show I watched for the summer season. This one had me with mixed feelings. I have never really been much of a zombie fan but this series might change that. At the same time I really don’t like most of the characters but I’m hoping they grow. The biggest problem with it, as I’m sure most girls will say, is all the fan service with the huge boobs and panty shots. I’m actually not as bothered by this as some people though. It got a little better in the third episode anyway. So far the zombie thing in the series is what has me hooked though. I’m really curious to find out how they get out of this. I’m not going to be surprised if we don’t get a good ending because it is based on a manga series that has been on hiatus for a long time. Still, I will probably be finishing this show.

Sekirei ~Pure Engagement~

Well, I watched the first season and posted about it on my older anime blog that is no longer around. So of course when the second one came out I have to watch it to see how it ends. The first season kind of just ended with a lot of cliff hangers.   I don’t have high expectations for this show though. I’m not sure what makes me like it to begin with. This show might be why High School of the Dead’s fan service doesn’t bother me though. haha. I don’t know, perhaps it is because i don’t hate the male lead in it. That is always a plus.

Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin

I have seen the first two episodes of this one so far. It’s definitely different, not at all what I was expecting. I’m curious but not hooked. The lead female seems a little boring so far and the male lead doesn’t have many points either. The occult and ghost idea of the show is what has me even watching this. It may be way to soon to start judging it just yet though.

Nurarihyon no Mago

I don’t know, I thought I would try it just because I was bored. It’s another one of those long shounen titles. If this one goes on too long like Bleach and Naruto I won’t be watching it. I hate fillers too much to put up with that. Still, the first episode was interesting enough to it might last for a little while.

Shiki

I think out of all the supernatural series this one is on the top of my list next to High School of the Dead. I didn’t really think I would enjoy this one all that much but I’m really curious and the art is nice. I liked how they pulled you into liking this one character and then having her die right off. It was surprising to say the least that they would start it that way instead of getting us use to the main character. I am curious as to what direction this anime will go.

Amagami SS

A cute series so far, was kind of surprised by the speed of it though. I’m not exactly sure what this anime’s purpose is though. If it is just suppose to go into a bunch of short stories about romance. If that is so I might not stick with it even though the first one wasn’t so bad it was still a little to rushed and silly for me. Then again it might be perfect for those days you need a time killer but don’t want to think.

Asobi ni Iku yo!

Another series that I’m not to sure about. I think a lot of the title this season are feeling this way. Anyway, the first two episodes were interesting but if it gets too silly I won’t be sticking with it. So far it is cute even though I’m not into the whole cute alien kitty cat thing. X_x I’m watching it more for the cool girl they showed a the beginning.  What was it, bad luck Izumi? I can’t really remember. haha

Black Rock Shooter OVA

Completely boring but I somehow managed to watch it all. I love the art to BRS, so don’t get me wrong but… wth? Why did it get so popular just because of the Music Video? I really never understand some addictions. Shrugs. To each their own I suppose. Still, the idea of this could have been really neat but the way they did it was so boring. There was hardly any talking and of course there was no plot. It just threw you into the action and you had no idea what was going on until the end.

I really don’t have a lot to say about these titles just yet. I tried to wait long enough but for some reason even when I saw up to four episodes of the series I still couldn’t decide if I like it or not. That is really strange. I’m hoping we get better seasons than this in the future, like perhaps more Durarara? hehe
