Domain
The History
Panikku is a personal weblog owned and operated by Ongaku. I bought this domain a very long time ago and it has gone through many changes. The domain itself was bought sometime in the year 2000. I first used this domain to run a very big and popular anime site. It had things such as images, wallpapers, pre-made free layouts, reviews, fan fiction, fan art, series information, anime music videos, and more. It was my pride and joy, but it was also sucking the life out of me. I didn’t have the time to keep running a demanding site like that so I bought a few other domains and separated out the content that I wanted to keep into smaller sites, which you can still see today. I kept this domain, even though it didn’t have a use anymore, because I have so many memories on it.
I had the domain go through many different ideas, but they never really worked out. Panikku sat around on the web with nothing on it for a few years or with still sites that never got updated. When I had a number of web hosting problems, a good net friend of mine, Megori, hosted it for me. I probably wouldn’t have been able to keep Panikku if it wasn’t for her. I owe her a lot.
Finally, I got a good idea to buy a reseller plan and put all my domains on it. I registered the plan with this domain and decided I was going to use this as my personal blog from now on. Ordinary Day, a domain I will miss, was once my personal blog, but because of server problems I felt it was time to say goodbye and make a fresh start.
Now, here I rant about anything and everything that comes to my mind, and though this is my more personal blog it’s not necessarily private so I’m not afraid of having people read it. I also use it to post up my fanfiction and reviews for manga and anime titles.
Panikku is running on Wordpress, a very powerful and free publishing platform. I would recommend using this publishing platform for any one who wants to blog.
The Name
The title of this domain was decided from a crazy japanese/engrish song called ‘Panikku’. This song is very cute and hyper and it comes from the series Kodomo No Omocha (Child’s Toy) as it’s ending theme. If you couldn’t already guess, Panikku is an engrish word for panic. Japanese tend to use a lot of English words and change them up a bit. A more proper term would probably be ‘loan words’. If you haven’t heard this song I suggest you give it a try, especially the remix version. You will smile from the cuteness.
The Host
Panikku is hosted on a reseller plan from Surpasshosting. I bought the smallest plan (Bronze Plan) because that is all I needed to host all my sites. All my other domains are hosted on this reseller plan as well.
The domain is hosted a 786 Domain, also known as Domains Priced Right. Both of these places are very reliable and have great support.
