// August 27th, 2010 // 2 Comments » // Manhwa, Reviews

The most beautiful face, the perfect body, and a sincere personality… that’s what Hwang Hyemin has. Naturally, she’s the center of everyone’s attention. Every boy in her school loves her, while every girl hates her out of their jealousy. Every single day, she has to endure tortures and hardships from the girls. There is nothing more satisfying than getting them back. Well, except for one problem: her secret crush, JongYon. Because of him, she has to hide her cynical and dark side and put an innocent face on daily. For him, she has to endure all the jealousy and suffering.  Then one day, she found out that he dislikes her anyways!! WHAT?!? That’s it! No more nice girl! And her first victim of rage is a playboy she just met, MaHa. -MangaFox

I would have to give this manhwa a pretty high rating. I enjoyed all it all the way to the end. Something about Korean manhwa differs so much from Japanese manga though. Some people may not like it but I happen to really be interested. They have a drier sense of humor and they really like sad stories. Anyway, this story has everything you could want from a shoujo type of manhwa. Can you even call it shoujo if it is Korean? I’m not really sure, but you get the idea.

This review will have many spoilers so beware!

Spring End 2010

// July 2nd, 2010 // No Comments » // AniManga, Anime, Reviews

It’s about time I made my post for the end of the spring season. I’m sad that so many of my favorite titles have come to an end though. I’m also sad because the summer schedule hasn’t really shown anything to interesting. I have yet to decide on which ones I will try. Not feeling very motivated. Oh no!

This show was awesome all the way to the end. We have one more episode to go but that one will only come out on DVD so it will be a while before we see it. I’m happy about it because they will bring in Izaya’s sisters, but I’m also nervous about it because I’m wondering how they will do one more episode. I liked how they left it open and didn’t make up their own ending to a story that is still on-going (and awesome as ever) as a light novel. I want them to actually feel like they could make a second season. They have plenty of material to use since they ended the first season at the end of volume three and there are eight volumes total. xD I really wish I could read japanese because then I would buy this authors books, all his stories sound amazing. Back to the anime though, it was done nicely and I loved the ended touches they had to make it cuter, like the Celty and Shinra part. It had me smiling like an idiot. If I’m not mistaken they had the author of the books come down and help them with the ending so even though there were some major changes, especially to Simon’s speech, it was still something the author would have wanted and not just fan service. Izaya and Shizuo fans will really be happy to know that. It took me a second to figure out how to tell someone about this story but one of the best ways is to tell them it is about some really twisted love, like really twisted love.

Such as a man loving a woman who doesn’t have a head. Another man who claims to love all humans except for one. A stalker girl who loves a man who almost killed her and he loves her back just because she looks like a head he fell in love with. A love that started young and had many heartaches when he couldn’t save her even though she had done it to herself. I could go on but you get the idea.

I really hope this gets licensed by someone who dubs this so that my mother can watch it. Either way, I will buy it if it comes to the states. XD
